Having worked for the two largest national driving schools for over 12 years, I felt it time to create my own identity on the road. I’d become disillusioned by the way these companies treat both their instructors and students, and I wanted to provide a better service at a better cost to you the client. In this time I’ve had many roles including area coaching of new and established Driving Instructors. I’ve trained people to go on to become Driving Instructors and recently a lad I taught to drive has become a Driving Instructor himself. I must have set the right example there then.

Perfect Pass aims to offer the best possible service to its clients. I have to, as an independent school I rely solely on my reputation within the industry and the local area I serve. An independent school can only survive through strong recommendations and reputation. Don’t fall into the trap that the larger the company the better the instructors. Many of the large National schools have trainee instructors working for them. How many tell you this at the time of handing over your money, if at all?

I have been fully qualified since 1994. I started out at just 22 years old, at the time becoming BSM’s youngest ever qualified Driving Instructor. Time has taken its toll a little since then, and no longer do people comment on how young I look. Hmm, maybe the job is aging me faster than I’d otherwise be. A good number of Driving Instructors are doing it to top up pension plans and supplement other income streams. Not here, driving instruction is my life and a passion I feel I can translate to my clients.

I am open to may different styles of teaching, after all everyone is made in a unique way. Some clients take longer than others, some need to be pushed, others need a nudge in the right direction. What makes the job so interesting, is you the clients. There can be a mixed bunch of emotions along the way to that Perfect Pass. Immense joy, sometimes mixed with frustration and sadness. Yet all these things can be worked through, I’ve see it all. The sheer elation of seeing the beaming smile as my client (YOU) gets the news from the examiner that they have passed, the Perfect Pass!
